Where can a 16 year old girl from Africa with big dreams and a basketball in her hands write her name forever in history?
And she wrote it on more than one account.
What sets her apart from others and do they know they can follow in her footsteps?
Sherifatu Rahman, or simply Rifa is a Rimpage athlete. She decided to pick herself and use the opportunity offered to her when she signed up for the Rimpage Shooting Stars challenge to represent her country Sierra Leone, going head to head with the USA Rimpage athletes.
In her debut match last week, Rifa set no less than four Rimpage records, including these huge achievements:
The first Rimpage female athlete to win a match anywhere in the world
The first athlete in Africa to score two 4-point shots in a single game

Every single one of Rimpage athletes writes their story and they get to decide to join and compete and go as far as their talent and dedication can take them.
Another outstanding Rimpage success is Ashton Cook, a very gifted and entertaining basketball player from Dallas, Texas, who has taken Rimpage opportunity seriously, and he continues to write his name next to many records in history books.
Ashton is the longest running no.1 in the super league - that means he is currently a top USA player which puts him firmly in the lead for qualifying to represent his country in the first ever Lion Tournament in September 2026 when Rimpage will crown the first undisputed best basketball player in the world.
He seems to leave nothing to chance and his records include an incredible 104 game win streak and being the first Rimpage athlete to graduate into the next rating class.
And if that wasn’t enough to want to check his games right away, he will not disappoint you with his unmatched display of amusing treats and skill that secures him a victory time after time and opponent after opponent.
So we have identified Ashton’s style to be Razer. Here is a short snippet of what that looks like on the court!
Rimpage was created exactly for athletes like Rifa and Ashton and so many like them worldwide who were waiting to be picked as good enough to play. We look forward to sharing all of their stories, as we are on a mission to give the opportunity to all 10,000 with a dream to have a chance to play, create and live it.

Rimpage is here to change the course of basketball history forever. The game we grew up playing and love watching has inspired so many young people to become athletes and to seek to realise their dream as professional basketball players, but prior to Rimpage only 3 in every 10,000 got to live that dream.
Does that mean that only 3 are deserving of a chance or does it mean that the stage we had before Rimpage was a very small stage?
Had that stage allowed for more teams, then more players would have lived their dreams. It’s simple really. The talent doesn’t match with opportunity and Rimpage has changed that forever.
Please help us reach more basketball players so that we can show them that they are the only ones who get to pick themselves and Rimpage is bringing the stage to their court. They get to be the stars in their local communities. They get to compete on a world stage right there where they are already playing. Only now their Rimpage games are the doorway to the realisation of their dreams.
